Hello and welcome. This is Nolan with Discover NC Homes and Nolan’s News. If you’re local here, I just wanted to talk about what is going on right outside our office and all up and down 211. So, We are now in full force of the widening of four lanes, which I think everybody can see.
So far, I think they’ve done a tremendous job. It really has not held up traffic. I’ll probably eat those words once we come into our summer market here, but we’ll see. But so far, so good.
I just wanted to talk about some general development. All up and down 211, besides this road project, they are moving dirt, clearing land. It is crazy what’s going on. So first parcel is, which I think everyone’s heard about and we’ve even talked about in the past, is, the parcel opposite the Lowe’s Foods on Midway Road in Middleton. That parcel stretches all the way back to Oak Island. Like everyone has heard, there’s 7,000 single family townhome, multi-family units planned there, along with a whole bunch of commercial going in.
So they’ve started now to really move dirt. I think that is underway, but actually got word the other day, and this is the opposite Lowe’s Foods, right at the intersection there going towards 87, there’s a pretty big parcel behind there, and I don’t know if this is just hearsay or not, but we was just talking with a few, developers, builders, heard that there is a class A RV park that should be going in – single family homes slated for about $250,000 – $300,000 there as well.
And again, I don’t know if there’s any truth to this, but also heard a waterpark might be going in. So the 211 corridor it’s literally on fire. There’s so much development going on. Could be a good thing, could be a bad thing, but that’s at least what is possibly going on in these two areas. So if you have any questions, let us know and again, we’ll see how the 211 expansion projects go this summer. Talk to you soon.
