Hello and welcome. This is Nolan with Discover NC Homes and Nolan’s news and I wanted to talk to you today about a really cool trick I’ve learned actually from a few clients to restoring oil rubbed bronze.
This is so important to me because oftentimes these door handles, over time they can become almost corroded and they get this almost white powder coat-look to them and it just looks terrible. And the front door and the front handle – this is your first impression as someone comes in. So anyway, learn this neat little trick to doing this.
If you have some vegetable oil, you just take a soft cloth – I use actually an old sock – and you put the vegetable oil on the sock, and then you just slowly (you don’t want to put a bunch of oil on), but you just slowly rub the handle and the lock as well. And almost instantly you can see the color restored on the oil rubbed bronze. It doesn’t get rid of pitting or it doesn’t get rid of heavy, heavy corrosion, but it literally changes the color.
So wanted to share that with you. These are expensive door knobs and door handles, so it’s just an inexpensive way to get it back to looking as good as it can.
Thanks for always for having us. Neat trick! Check it out when you can.
