It’s not every day that the largest investment firm in the world takes center stage in a conversation about your next home purchase—but here we are.

In this Nolan’s News video, Nolan Formalarie, Broker and Owner of Discover NC Homes takes us on an unexpected journey through one of the more perplexing and potentially orchestrated financial maneuvers in recent history: BlackRock’s direct involvement in the 2020 economic bailout.

BlackRock, which manages trillions of dollars, reportedly implemented what was known as a “direct injection plan” in March 2020—just as the pandemic hit. This plan funneled roughly $500 billion into the U.S. economy, boosting money flow by 22% in just six months. The interesting twist? BlackRock wasn’t just a participant—it helped design the plan and was then hired by the Federal Reserve to implement it, buying up billions in corporate bonds (a product it also sells) and absorbing losses using taxpayer funds.

In the video, Nolan shares how this knowledge left him with more questions than answers—but one thing’s clear: understanding these economic currents is crucial. Especially in real estate, where interest rates and investor behavior ripple through every neighborhood.

“We’re still in a good market,” Nolan says. “But it’s been up and down. Interest rates have a lot to do with that.” With potential Fed rate cuts on the horizon, the real estate landscape could shift again—and not necessarily in predictable ways.

Watch the full video above and weigh in with your thoughts. Is this just economic strategy, or something more coordinated behind the scenes?
