Hello and welcome. This is Nolan with DiscoverNCHomes and Nolan’s News. Today I have a good friend, client, Ron Grabarek here with me. Ron, thank you so much for coming. I just wanted to tell you a little bit about the process and how I helped Ron and actually have become a good friend with Ron over the years.

Ron, if you could kind of explain how we first met through searching for real estate and then ultimately a rental. Give us your story if you will.

Ron
Okay. Well, we met in Spring of 2012 through a mutual friend, a gentleman who lived in St. James Plantation and he was from Connecticut as we are. And we came down here and obviously we were looking for home, we had a two month rental and we were looking for a house or a resale. And possibly, we already owned a lot. Anyway, long story is we met you and then you helped us for two months.

Nolan
Did you say it was two or three months? We looked, we looked at homes together. We looked at quite a few at the time.

Ron
It was two months and we looked at probably 50 homes my wife had already decided that she was gonna rebuild and redesign every house. So since we owned a lot over in West Medina, we decided we would build and that’s what we did.

Nolan
Yeah. And it was a good process. And I liked the way you all kind of came to your conclusion. There were a number of things in every home that we looked at that, like you said, Brenda wanted to add. Or just add to, because these homes were five, ten, some a little older than that. So I think, naturally we came to the conclusion that building would be better. And we also had discussed that selling the home site would have to go towards this resale. So I think ultimately it was the best decision.

Ron
Without question. At the end of the day, we got everything we wanted. I always wanted to own a home on a golf course. We owned the lot – we bought the lot in 2000 and it worked out well. You introduced us to Travis Cruz who became our ultimate builder. It was a year with your help working with Travis and ourselves it was a very smooth process. Initially I was adamant against the idea of building.

Nolan
Yes, you were. I remember that. Yes, you were!

Ron
No interest whatsoever. And at the end of the day, not only did Travis build a wonderful house, but he also did it in six months. And it was a very smooth transition.

Nolan
It was! Now the six months – that doesn’t happen anymore. It was a period in the building industry, but it was. And it was also, I think too, I was just getting into rentals at that point. But after your shorter term rental, we needed to find you something to finish up the process too. So that was another avenue that we kind of helped you with.

Ron
Well, very much so, because we were trying to rent the house that we had rented over in Georgetown and that unfortunately was not available and we needed a six month rental. And we also had a golden retriever at that time that we were bringing with us. And the people that you ultimately had sold the house to over on Beaver Creek were gracious enough to rent the house. We had, we had a great experience and it worked out well. And literally from the October 1st, when we first moved in, until the day we moved into our new house.
